The opening reception March 19th brought a crowd to see the West Gallery Small Works by Tom Stanley and Paul Matheny, my work, OUR TOWN in the East Gallery, PAPER WORK in the vault by Gene Merritt, and wonderful DD2 student art on view in the South Gallery. I still remember the feeling in elementary school seeing my work on the wall in a public show. It's so exciting for students to get that recognition for their hard work. Get all the details including operating hours at publicworksartcenter.org/

I've included some photos of the East Gallery designed to include interactive activities and art to touch. In the photo below, the 10' giclee print, View From My Porch sits over a picket fence and there are links to sound recordings from the porch. And for the sense of touch the Summerville Wishbook in the same photo, invites viewers to touch the pages as they read what I hope are Summerville's aspirations for 2026.

The idea for the show started with small gouache paintings of homes I see on my walks. The homes are big and small, well maintained or needing some love and these 44 Snap Shots anchor the show.

Summerville is a true railroad town according to our guide from the Summerville History Museum and Research center and the trains which rumble by multiple times a day, serve as a steady reminder. My homage to the building's original 1938 PWA mural, Train Time, is constructed out of cardboard and features Summerville residents, both past and present. The title is Train Time 2.0.
