Workshops are a chance to get away and try something new. I just returned from Durham, NC and a Plein Air workshop with artist Larry Moore and it was a great trip. Lucky me!

 Alizarin Gallery
organized the workshop. Their space is bright and airy and they represent very talented artists.

There is much to learn from an instructor at a workshop and I've always enjoyed meeting the other attendees. They are talented, interesting, generous and encouraging.  I hope we can paint together again. Downtown Durham had wonderful architecture and Duke Gardens had lots of color and softer edges- perfect contrast.

Plein Air painting in itself is always an adventure. There is the weather, bugs, unforgiving terrain, restrooms that are always too far away, and best of all- the peanut gallery. At Duke Gardens a lovely man took my photo and said that I had an unusual brush technique. It's all good!
